The staff behind the website
As we have alluded to multiple times throughout this series, the work that goes into SempreMilan is rather comprehensive. Coverage has always been at the heart of the website and given just how fierce the news business is, the No.1 goal is to make sure that someone is on shift. As 24/7 coverage just isn’t possible, or necessary for that matter, the site is covered for at least 10 hours per day.
Monday to Sunday, this job simply never stops. For a long time, it was just Oli and I juggling the coverage, writing as much as possible outside of our paid hours. It wasn’t until April of 2022 that we brought on a third writer, namely Euan Burns, who started doing 10 hours per week. At the time, I was working 15-20 hours a week while Oli was working full-time, i.e. 40 hours per week.
