Beppe Sala: How to waste taxpayers' money on Milan slander [Bonus article]
The last few weeks have been very interesting for the stadium project. AC Milan publicly announced their master plan for the San Francesco area and the political process is officially underway. As a direct result of this, though, a media war has broken out between AC Milan and Milano mayor Beppe Sala.
Okay, not so much a war but an attempt from one of the parties (I’ll let you do the math) to stop a train that already has left the station. The San Donato project is not a tactic, a ploy, or a way for Milan to change the conservationists’ minds in Milano. No, this IS the project.
The San Siro area had its chance, with both Milan and Inter going above and beyond to highlight the necessity of a new stadium. The city council didn’t want to listen, especially not the members, and Milano mayor Beppe Sala was of no use either. To the media, he occasionally alluded to the fact that realistic assessments needed to be made, but in reality he never pushed for these when it mattered.
