Derby content teaser, stadium Plan B and a season-defining test
Milan failed to get the win against Inter last night in the Coppa Italia semi-final, but at least they manage to avoid conceding an ‘away goal’ ahead of the second leg. In that sense, it was still a great experience for the fans present, which is one of the things we take a look at in this week’s edition.
Indeed, the Rossoneri had many chances to take the lead against the Nerazzurri but just lacked the final touch to do so. The second leg is scheduled for April 20th and since the away goal rule still applies in Coppa Italia (will be gone next season), Milan can be considered slight favourites.
Gian and Stefano’s derby experience…
As most of you know already, SempreMilan members Gian and Stefano were present in Milan for the derby last night. It was quite the experience despite the 0-0 draw, with many fans at the stadium and the Rossoneri ones in good form. As promised, Gian and Stefano documented a lot of their trip.
From chants with the Curva Sud, pre-match hang with Milan Club Dublin and an improvised football game at the Duomo with IFTV, the lads got the full experience. We have attached a little teaser below, but all of the videos will be compiled into one video for our Youtube channel as soon as possible, including the pre-match predictions from the lads and much more.
Alternative areas for new stadium…
There has been a lot of talk about the stadium project in recent months and, frankly, in recent years but progress has always been very slow. So much, in fact, that Milan and Inter are once again considering other areas for their stadium.
➤ Sesto San Giovanni: This area is located about 20 minutes away from the city centre, connected with the Duomo by the underground metro line 1. In other words, it’s very close to the city and this is an aspect that Milan and Inter obviously have to prioritise.
➤ San Donato: This area is located about 15 minutes away from the city centre, connected with the Duomo by underground metro line 3. Once again, we have used the Duomo as a reference point just to make it a bit easier. It’s also quite close to Linate Airport, which might come in handy.
➤ Segrate: This area is currently not reachable with the underground metro, but there are plans to extend Line 4 (soon to be opened) which currently stops at Linate. If that ends up happening, the travel time should be similar to the others.
The feeling, however, is that the Sesto San Giovanni area is in pole position, should Milan decide to abandon the San Siro project which, however, remains the priority for now.
A final word…
Although Milan wasted a lot of chances in their game against Inter, the feeling is that it was still a confidence boost ahead of the important clash against Napoli. For next time, the entire derby vlog will have been released and we might have some good stuff to discuss with regards to the Scudetto race. Unilt then, Forza Milan!
