Welcome to the third edition of Meeting the Milan Media! In this series, we interview the journalists who cover AC Milan on a daily basis, getting to know them and their occupation better. This time we spoke to the brilliant Pietro Balzano Prota, who is a well-known face in the Rossoneri environment with many appearances on MilanTV.
Pietro Balzano Prota, or PBP as he is usually called, has been working in journalism for a very long time. He first made a name for himself on Twitter where he amassed a large following, and subsequently as the director of Radio Rossonera. The radio station had just been launched back then, more specifically in 2017, but it has since grown a lot and is now one of the biggest Milan outlets on the market.
After over three years at Radio Rossonera, PBP decided to accept an offer from the player agency FIRS1, working closely with players such as Dani Olmo and Jonathan Ikone. Therefore, besides extensive experience as a journalist, PBP also knows what it’s like to work on ‘the other side’. We felt it was a no-brainer to sit down with him for this series, in other words.
In the interview below, we get to the bottom of why Pietro became a journalist, how long he has been in the field and what the biggest challenges are for him on a day-to-day basis. Furthermore, we asked about his punditry on MilanTV during the Scudetto win, and what it was like to work so closely with big players at FIRS1.
