A lot has happened in the last two weeks, really since the derby against Inter, and Milan’s serious problems have certainly been highlighted. From the media debacle (god will the reporting never end?), a lack of convincing signals from the ownership and the protests of the Curva Sud. Naturally, and understandably so, most Rossoneri fans aren’t exactly high on enthusiasm at the moment.
It’s very difficult to describe the current situation, even for us who follow Milan on a daily basis and receive various signals from those on the ground. Above all, it’s been incredibly frustrating to see the reports in the media in the last few weeks. It’s just a shame that these manager agreements keep falling apart at the last second! Without a doubt, this nonsense speculation hasn’t exactly helped the club.
We saw it with the investigation into Milan’s ownership, when the media suggested that Elliott Management still owns the club, which is something that was blown way out of proportion. Unfortunately, it’s just the way the media operates these days, playing on our emotions in whatever way it takes. We get it, attention spans are short and it’s difficult for any outlet to survive, but that doesn’t mean we should turn our backs on respect.
Anyway, this wasn’t really meant to be a discussion about the media, and it won’t be one either. Earlier this week, I (Isak) had a realisation which nearly sent me into a great depression. Not to trivialise the latter, but it certainly isn’t easy being a football fan sometimes. To make a long story short, I went to watch my local team IFK Göteborg in the derby against GAIS. It was the first league derby in 12 (!) years, thanks to the latter’s promotion last year.
