Loan moves remain pillars of the transfer market and while many might think of them as beneficial solely on the incoming front, they can actually help a lot when offloading players as well. Milan have been frequent users of this formula in recent years and above all with outcasts, for good reason even if it doesn’t always have the desired effect.
Indeed, there are both good and bad examples from the last years on the loan front, with names such as Divock Origi and Charles De Ketelaere coming to mind. Contrary to what appears to be the popular belief about the latter, Milan managed to get a good deal under the circumstances and the loan formula helped a lot with that, registering a profit in the end. Indeed, the formula was crucial.
