Transfer news aside (Terraciano was announced earlier today), there is another thing we can’t take our eyes off this month: the youth explosion at AC Milan. Chaka Traore bagged his second goal in as many games against Empoli, while Alex Jimenez came off the bench yet again. It is simply wonderful to see.
Sure, the fact that an Alessandro Florenzi injury paved the way for Jimenez to come on shouldn’t be glossed over. It doesn’t appear to be anything serious for the veteran, as he could return already against Roma, but it was just typical that the Spaniard’s entrance was overshadowed by Milan’s arch-enemy. Paradoxically, the latter is what made it all possible to begin with.
And where do we even start with Traore? He found the back of the net with fantastic composure, following a lovely counter-attack with Christian Pulisic, and it’s clear that Milan made the right decision to sign him at 16 years old. Indeed, this youth explosion - as we like to call it - didn’t happen overnight but is instead the result of years and years of systematic work.
