With the risk of sounding repetitive, the upcoming summer will be very important for the foreseeable future of AC Milan’s journey to the top. We have truly arrived at a crossroads and this has inevitably put a lot of pressure on the decisions that must be made, with the main one being the managerial role. Allegedly having a shortlist that isn’t very short, who will it be in the end?

Indeed, the next few weeks will be very interesting to follow for the fans and for once, it has absolutely nothing to do with what happens on the pitch. Stefano Pioli’s departure has been coming for quite some time, as we can go back almost a year for the first suspicions, and it thus hasn’t come as a shock to anyone. Some might argue that it’s been a ‘shock’ for the management, though, or at least it wasn’t fully expected.

Before we get bogged down in Milan’s stance during this season, as well as what ultimately led to the fatal decision, let’s look back at how we got here and what will happen now for the Rossoneri.
